I've been a fan of Simply Red since the classic that was/is 'Holding Back The Years'. I've seen then many times in concert and I am looking forward to seeing them again in December 2015. Whilst Mick did go through a 'dodgy' patch after 2003 this new album is classic Simply Red. I have read all the reviews that more or less describe this album as boring but I have to disagree. Simply Red have captured the old school sound from their earlier albums with this new set, and nowhere is it demonstrated more than on the new song 'The Ghost Of Love'. I absoloutely love this song and it could easily have featured on any album from 'Picture Book' up to 'Life'. It just shows that Mick & the guys can still produce a pop gem 30 years on, which is more than can be said for alot of bands. I'm pretty sure the blander than bland Ed Sheeran will not be relaeasing music of this standard in 30 years time. Well done Simply Red.

A brilliant album, various melodies, licks and tunes to listen to. Some meaningful lyrics that will touch home with even the most insensitive.

Is he going for the Englebert Humperdinck demographic with that cover photo?

After quite liking the 'Picture Book’ & Men & ‘Women’ albums I thought I’d sample where Simply Red were at with this latest offering. As seems to be the way with chart focused music of this current generation it’s just 4 minutes of repeated harmonic loops and meaningless lyric soundbites. Can’t say I’m impressed at all, must have needed to top up their pensions rather than make something of any substance; a shame.

How on earth can people describe this spectacular masterpiece as boring, dreary and blah, blah, blah!!!!! I think Mick and the Simply Red guys have done a wonderful job on this album, and listening to it really makes me feel happy:) Simply Red 4 life!xx

I listened hoping the next song would be better than the last one but no. Songs were flat, even boring. I adore Mick Hucknall and have every album he has released but this album has no spark, no anything really of the Simply Red I love. I'm sad 😢

downloaded and enjoyed, not a WOW classic, but a decent enough collection in their excellent style. GOOD not GREAT is a fair statement.
