A warm and wonderful enhancement to Karen's unique voice.
  • Perfect Marriage

Sad to see tracks like Calling Occupants & I’m Caught Between Goodbye & I Love You omitted from this compilation, they would’ve worked beautifully. Plus, in terms of 45’s sold, they really should’ve featured. But, enough about that. The orchestration is superb, especially on Goodbye to Love. The additional vocals bring an extra depth whilst not detracting in any way from the original recordings. You enjoy/appreciate Richard’s masterful arrangements all over again as different facets are highlighted. A marriage made in heaven - highly recommend!

Absolutely blown away with how fresh and rich Karen's vocals are here with these new arrangements. Love it, love it, love it. One absolute GEM is I Just Fall In Love Again - what an outstanding vocal.

Hearing the beautiful and soothing voice of Karen Carpenter mixed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is pure bliss. This is an album that will be played all year round. Karen Carpenters voice is never drowned out or lost in any of the tracks and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra blends in perfectly. It’s nice to have an album with the obvious Hits mixed with some of the not so familiar tracks. Of course if you are a fan of the Carpenters then all the tracks will be familiar. I truly hope that within 12 to 18 months there will be a second album just like it was done with Elvis and Roy Orbison. Do yourself a favour and treat yourself, or treat someone special with a very special album. A very easy 5 stars and Highly recommended.

I welcome any release of new Carpenters material, but, would prefer a “stripped down “version which allows Karen carpenters voice to be appreciated fully, this is fine, but, does not add a lot to the old recordings.
  • Karen’s impeccable voice remains the star..

Just heard YESTERDAY ONCE MORE from this album on the Graham Norton Show on R2. The fusion of Karen’s exquisite voice backed by the gravitas of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra can only be a good thing but Karen’s timeless vocals will forever remain the star of Richard’s compositions. It’s her voice that the listener’s ear is drawn to. Perfection and matchless.
