Some music execs have quite obviously pounced on the current trend to record orchestral versions of classics and entirely missed the point of doing so by merely chasing the next pound/dollar.
This is a lesson in how to make music by numbers and surgically remove any sense of emotion that the original engendered. Awful.
Like musical karaoke, only much much worse...
Disappointing with one exception
Failed to impress with the originals still outshining these new arrangements. However, Small Town Boy is tremendous, fantastic new arrangement.
Not enough songs for the price of this album

just flicked through, wow thats how you ruin some classics

Seriously impressed with the hits covered on this, they sound incredible!
It could have more on it
There's such a huge selection of music from the 80's, most of it synth pop, for instance, Human League 'What dreams are made of' is an ultimate example. So I feel like it's just another one of those albums spewed out without any thought just to get a bit of extra cash in the bank. Thankfully I have Spotify.
A great idea but perhaps poorly executed. The original songs seem to have lost some nuance or dynamics in order for the orchestra to have presence in the mix.
Midge Ure symphonic is the way you do it not this
By David J S
Had high hopes and sadly not met. All they have done is laid the original vocals over an orchestral take on the music and in the main it fails to add anything over the original so why both. Unlike Midge Ure who actually revisited the vocals too and producing special on his album
Absolutely brilliant but not enough 80’s classics on this album. Would of loved to have heard more 🥺
