  • Hard to imagine my life without this

    By George and Willows Dad
Was such a groundbreaking album, dark but pop, fantasy but real and to think that Are Friends stormed to the top of the singles chart with a sound and image that was so alien at the time. Numan is and was a genius
  • My First Album

    By GK UK
I was fifteen in the summer of 1979 and looking forward to leaving school. I'd been raised in a house where Radio One was a constant soundtrack and there was nothing wrong with that, there was great music around in the late 1960s and through the 1970s. One day i heard a song drifting out of our old transistor radio that sounded like nothing i'd ever heard before and i knew things were never going to be the same again. 'Are Friends Electric' absolutely blew me away, the sound, Gary's look, the whole thing was beyond my wildest dreams, in musical terms i went from a boy to a man when i heard that song. This album still means a lot to me well over thirty years later, and along with his follow up 'The Pleasure Principle' are still two of my favourite albums. What i still find incredible is that they were masterminded by a 19, 20, 21 year old kid. Buy both albums for sixteen quid and play them loud !
